This portfolio was my first foray into responsive design. The theme uses CSS media queries to change the layout depending on the screen width (resize your browser window to see what I mean–the content will adapt!) The same code base is used whether viewing on a smartphone or a widescreen monitor with only minor tweaks to CSS. This is particularly important for the large number of users browsing the web on smartphones, tablets and other connective devices.
Hi Caroline, I’m wondering if you cou7ld answer this for me or point me in the right direction. I use BRAND NEW DAY as my theme on my self hosted wordpress site (and a lovely theme it is too!)
However, It displays incorrectly in Internet Explorer, with the posts appearing horizontally and overwriting each other instead of vertically.
Are you able to offer some advice?
It sounds like you’re viewing in IE 7 (which is not supported) or IE 8 with Compatibility View turned on. If you turn off Compatibility View it should look fine.
For future questions, please post them over in the support forums here. I consolidate my support there so others can benefit as well.
Thank you, and I’m glad you like the theme!
i like your theme brand new day, but i have problems to choose th theme options i would like the red option
what i have to do?
Go to Appearance -> Theme Options and select the theme style you’d like to use, then save. Please post any further support questions in the forums at the link in the comment above, as I’m going to close comments here now.
