Pachyderm Free WordPress Theme

Pachyderm Free WordPress Theme

Introducing Pachyderm, a whimsical tumblog-style theme  supporting all post formats, featured images, optional right sidebar, drop-down menu, flexible header image, custom backgrounds, and a responsive layout for mobile devices. And what theme wouldn’t be complete without at least one pink elephant?

Pachyderm uses WordPress post formats with special icons for each format. Select the appropriate post format when composing your post and the icon and appearance will change accordingly. Sticky posts are also denoted with a unique icon. Check out the theme demo to see post formats in action.

The theme is flexible–make it as simple or fancy as you want! If pink elephants aren’t your style, you can swap out the header with your own image by going to Appearance -> Header. Drop-down menu navigation will appear if you configure a menu under Appearance -> Menus. Likewise, adding widgets to the right-hand sidebar under Appearance -> Widgets will cause the sidebar to appear (and the layout to widen).

As always, for questions or support, please post in the forums.

  1. I absolutely love this theme. I illustrate too, and I wanted to throw up a personal blog with a design that fit me – I just don’t have the time to design one on my own – thank you for creating this lovely theme!

  2. Hi,
I just have downloaded this beautiful theme and I would like to say “thank you”: it was exactly what I’m looking for a baby blog.

  3. I really like the theme !! thanks!!!
Only one thing… is it me or the font is a bit weird ? i mean, it seems to not be crisp enough… ?

  4. ok, thanks!

    One more thing please…

Would it be possible to force to have the entire post (content) on pages, instead of excerpt ?

If so, how could that be done ?

Seems the theme is overwriting WordPress settings.

  5. Hi Caroline,

I’ve applied your theme to my wife’s blog (nice work btw…it’s beautiful). Anyway, I’m writing in regard to your latest update to version 1.1.1.

I’ve made some customizations directly to version 1.1 and would like to know what changed in version 1.1.1. (p.s. I know I could make a child theme, I just didn’t in this case;)

Anyway, in the backend of the theme area there is a “View version 1.1.1 deatils” link which brings you to the theme download page and the theme meta details. However, it seems there’s no way to get to a Change Log.

I can just do a comparison between version, but wanted to let you know in case a Change Log is something you’d like to add in the future.

  6. Hi – really like your Pachyderm wordpress site – but I agree with someone above – the font does look kinda ‘blurry’ – I’ve been looking at it on a laptop and a 25″ screen.
Is there an easy way to change the font my end?

  7. I really love your Theme! It is exactly what I was searching for! Thank you for creating and offering that!
I just have one question. Is it possible somehow to show the number of comments (which there already are for each article) already on the top (under the headline) of each article in the overview? Because I guess the amount of comments on my page would increase a lot if the people could see at first sight, that somebody has already written something to this article.

    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Greetings
    Jenny

  8. hello,

thank you for the great template! just one question, is there an easy way to change the header image on each page? or better yet to have a header image that cycles, then it would always be different.

    thank you,
    aaron
